Maryam Wesal

Trainee Solicitor

I have been a paralegal at Hancock Quins Solicitors in Watford since 2017.

I work in the wills, probate and trusts department, assisting the lawyers in the process of making wills, making lasting powers of attorney and applying for probate in Watford, Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas.

My role involves preparing and drafting documents, dealing with enquiries and liaising with official bodies such as the Office of the Public Guardian to keep everything on track for:

  • making a will
  • adding a codicil to your will
  • making a lasting power of attorney
  • probate and administration of estates.

I am involved in the administration of estates, which can be a complex process including preparing the estate accounts on behalf of the executors, gathering in the assets and submitting inheritance tax returns.

I am an experienced paralegal, having previously worked at the London borough of Ealing and in Lambeth.

In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, calligraphy and travelling. I also love reading and am a huge Harry Potter fan, so I am delighted to be working so close to the Harry Potter Studios in Leavesden, near Watford.
